Sketchify
An AI image-processing app that turns photos into drawings. A computer-vision pipeline — edge detection, Gaussian and difference-of-Gaussians filtering, tone mapping — runs as GPU shaders on the phone, so thirteen sketch styles update live while the sliders move and no photo is ever uploaded. Built with React Native and Expo.
- Computer-vision pipeline on the GPU: Sobel edge detection, Gaussian and difference-of-Gaussians filters, colour-dodge tone mapping and halftone screening, written as SkSL shaders
- Real-time image processing: a full-resolution preview redraws as the sliders move, and exports go up to 4096 px
- Thirteen styles, from graphite, pencil and ink to cross-hatch, comic, watercolour and neon
- Live editor on your own photo: six sliders with values, invert, crop, rotate, flip and compare
- Batch mode sketches up to 60 photos in one style, then saves them all or exports one PDF
- Gallery wall, full-screen viewer with swipe, favourites, sharing and an in-app camera
- Private by design: photos are processed on the phone, and optional cloud backup is locked to each user with row-level security
- A test script compiles every shader and renders a photo in each style before it reaches a phone
